We had 285 people attend the summit to to discuss developments in health care, the outlook for the health care industry in the Fort Collins region and actions that could strengthen the health care sector. Chamber Announces Summit
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce officially announced today that Rulon F. Stacey, Ph.D., FACHE and Chief Executive Officer of University of Colorado Health will be the keynote speaker for the 2012 Health Care in Your Future Summit. A brand new event for the chamber, the summit will be held beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Embassy Suites, 4705 Clydesdale Parkway, Loveland, Colorado on March 28, 2012.
The Summit will provide members of the business community with the opportunity to discuss developments in health care, the outlook for the health care industry in the Fort Collins region and actions that could strengthen the health care sector.
About 300 business professionals and community leaders are expected at the Health Care in Your Future Summit. Individual ticket prices are $35 per person for Chamber members and $40 per person for non-members. A table of 10 people is $300. Registration is now closed. Summit Schedule and Speakers Released
The Health Care Summit will open at 7:00 am at the Embassy Suites in Loveland on March 28 with a continental breakfast, resource hall and registration available. Dr. Rulon Stacey, CEO of Univeristy of Colorado Health, will provide our keynote address followed by a panel discussion featuring local physician Dr. Jim Sprowell, Flood and Peterson Employee Benefits Executive Jim Sampson, Poudre Valley Hospital President & CEO Kevin Unger, Columbine Health Systems Director Yvonne Myers and a representative from Tolmar Pharmaceuticals. Chamber President & CEO David May will be moderating the panel.
At 10:45am two break out sessions will be offered. “This is Getting Old Fast”¯ will include comments by State Demographer Elizabeth Garner, Columbine Health Systems Director Yvonne Myers, Pathways Hospice CEO Evan Hyatt and Home Instead Senior Care Owner Mike Maguire while “All This Reform Stuff Sounds Expensive: Who Pays”¯ will include comments by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Vice President Janet Pogar, Kaiser Permanente Vice President of Government and External Relations Dr. Jandel Allen-Davis, Poudre Valley Health System Vice President, Payor Relations and Colorado Choice Health Plans CEO Cynthia Palmer. Box lunches will be provided during the 11:30am closing session featuring Dr. Martin Shields speaking about “Money and Jobs: What Does All This Change Mean to the Economy of Northern Colorado.”¯ His comments will conclude at 12:30pm with the resource hall being available until 1pm. Guests attending the event will receive breakfast, lunch, a copy of Rulon Stacey's book “Over Our Heads”¯ and a tremendous amount of valuable information.
