Do you find Downtown parking a challenge for your vehicle or bike? We want to know how you park and what you think needs improvement. The community raised questions about the difficulty in finding on street parking, the lack of employee parking, and the locations of bicycling parking. We hear you. To capture your thoughts, please take a short online survey and share your parking needs, desires, and concerns. Your comments will help us in preparing the City's Parking Plan and in managing parking Downtown. To take the survey, visit fcgov.com/parkingplan before September 30, 2011.

What's a parking plan? The City of Fort Collins' Parking Plan provides guidance to our approach to parking management and the parking program. This plan, last updated as part of the Fort Collins Downtown Strategic Plan in 2004, describes parking conditions and key problems, establishes guiding principles and policies, and recommends parking management and development strategies. As such, it is an important tool to sustain and enhance the economic health of Downtown.

What will this update do? It will strategically address key parking issues. The result will be a new plan containing principles, policies and strategies for the Downtown and nearby neighborhoods, River District, and area north of Colorado State University. It will better define the roles of the City and private sector in the provision of parking and the management of parking demand. It will provide a current assessment of the parking demand and supply, an examination of some key questions via public input, and recommendations for new parking strategies.
