Tony Award Winning 'Avenue Q' Makes Colorado Professional Debut at Midtown Arts Center Jan. 13
Published Monday, January 9, 2012 5:00 am

Beginning January 13, 2012, the Dinner Theater at Midtown Arts Center will be home to Colorado's first professional production of the 2004 Tony Award Winning musical "Avenue Q." This also marks the first time in state history that the show will run on a dinner theater stage. "Avenue Q" runs select Thursday evenings, every Friday and Saturday evening as well as Sunday matinees through March 17. Affordably priced tickets (starting at $49/pp for a delicious dinner and entertaining show) are now on sale and can be purchased through Midtown Arts Center's Box office at www.midtownartscenter.com or by calling (970)225-2555.

According to the official show website, "Avenue Q" is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad names Princeton who moves into a shabby New York Apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the closeted gay-Republican), Trekkie (the Internet sexpert) and other colorful types who help Princeton discover his purpose in life.

Featuring a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risque and downright entertaining way, "Avenue Q" has been called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see," by Entertainment Weekly. Don't miss this happy (yet very adult) send up of Sesame Street story-telling that the New York Times hails as "savvy, sassy and delicious!" The show is rated R and intended for adult audiences.
