The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce released today results from a 2013 Voter Study, designed to measure the attitudes of registered voters in Fort Collins toward various issues in the community.
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 108th Annual Dinner at the Hilton Fort Collins Wednesday evening, where over 530 people attended to celebrate local business stars and achievements. Several outstanding business leaders were recognized with Chamber honors, including co-owners of OtterBox Curt and Nancy Richardson, winners of the Chamber’s prestigious Collins Award.
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the fifth annual Young Professional of the Year Award. This award focuses on the contributions that young professionals make to the local community through volunteerism and community activities, strides they are making to better themselves via professional development activities and their professional accomplishments.
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce thrives on the energy and dedication of its volunteers and is very fortunate to have outstanding members of the community wanting to get involved. The Local Legislative Affairs Committee (LLAC) is currently accepting applications for involvement for 2013.

The Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance and Leadership Northern Colorado announced speakers for their 2012 Regional Issues Summit happening at Bixpo. The Regional Issues Summit will be Wednesday, September 26 from 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Embassy Suites in Loveland. Speakers include water lawyer Andrew Jones, Regional Economist Phyllis Resnick and Colorado Oil & Gas Association President & CEO Tisha Schuller, among others.

The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced the speakers for the 2012 Future of Jobs event. A new event for the chamber, the summit will begin at 7:!5 a.m. at the Drake Centre, 802 West Drake on Thursday, August 9. The Summit will provide members of the business community with the opportunity to learn about primary employment trends in Larimer County, the City's Economic Health Plan, trends in site selection and innovation and commercialization in Fort Collins.

Thirty current and emerging leaders from throughout the Fort Collins area will be selected to participate in the 2012-2013 program, which will begin in September 2012 and conclude in May 2013. Participants come together on the second Thursday of the month for a day-long session to learn about growth, environment and community planning; local government; public safety and community assistance; economic development and small business assistance; health care; history, diversity and community betterment; education and life-long learning; and teambuilding and leadership development.

The third Leadership Northern Colorado class completed their six month program on Tuesday, June 26 at the Budweiser Event Center. Twenty-seven participants completed the 2012 program and were recognized at a graduation event sponsored by Public Service Credit Union. Leadership Northern Colorado has now graduated 85 participants.

The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce held their first ever Celebrating Small Business Award & Luncheon event at The Hilton Fort Collins earlier today, April 25, 2012. Over 30 companies were nominated to receive the Small Business of the Year Awards with only two awards being given to Shaw and Associates (company with 1-10 employees) and to The Cupboard (company with11-50 employees). Over 200 people attended the inaugural event sponsored by First National Bank; Dellenbach Chevrolet, Cadillac, Subaru and Suzuki; Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Hyundai; Mantooth Marketing; Pinnacol Assurance; Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.; Tynan's Nissan Kia & Saab; Ward Petroleum; JAX Mercantile and Perkins & Coie Law Firm.
The 2012 Leadership Fort Collins (LFC) class participants have been challenged to work in small teams to design and complete a class project in a single day. The participants were encouraged to design a project that would impact the Fort Collins community while meeting a local need. Two projects are underway to address poverty and self-sufficiency. Fort Collins Utilities Commercial Accounts Representatives will help commercial customers better understand the components of their bills with the recent changes to the rate structure and also provide information to help prepare for the seasonal increases beginning in June.

Last month, at the Annual Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E) Conference in Las Vegas,NV, the Fort Collins Area Chamber received the Outstanding Communications Achievement Award as well as a special merit web site award and a special merit e-newsletter award.
The Environmental Committee is a standing committee of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce focused on providing outreach to Chamber members, non-chamber businesses and the general public on environmental issues and programs. The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce culminated a two and a half month campaign to generate financial resources to expand its programs for the community and members at a victory celebration on November 17 at the Fort Collins Country Club. A goal was set to secure $300,000 in a “total resource campaign”ť that will fund programs for Education and Quality of Life, Job Creation, Small Business Success and Public Policy Action. Over 100 volunteers representing 20 companies helped the Chamber surpass it's goal by generating $327,314 for the campaign while attracting 86 new members.

FORT COLLINS, CO - Several community organizations, working with local government, are taking a hands-on approach to ensure that Fort Collins' primary employers stay put. The Larimer County Business Retention and Expansion Survey Program is a collaboration of the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation (NCEDC), the Fort Collins Area and Loveland Chambers of Commerce and the Cities of Fort Collins and Loveland. The program has two goals: to establish relationships with primary employers in the community and to better understand trends occurring with primary employers.
