Fort Collins residents and beyond will paint the town pink and run 3.2 miles in support of Hope Lives! The Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Support Center.

“This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to honor those we have lost, to show our support to all the women fighting the disease and to celebrate life and survivorship!”� said Executive Director, Melissa Venable.

Hope Lives! will be hosting the Pink Boa 5K Run/Walk at Front Range Village--2720 Council Tree Ave., Fort Collins.  The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Kid's Fun Run beginning at 9:45 a.m.  In addition to the USATF sanctioned race, participants will be able to enjoy live entertainment, food court, awards for top finishers in six age categories  and numerous vendors.  The race is a family friendly event that also welcomes four legged family members as long as they are on a leash.  In fact, there will be prized awarded to the “Prettiest Pup in Pink.”�

Those wishing to participate in the Pink Boa 5K can register online at www.hopelives.org.  Advance Registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt, boa and goodie bag.  Breast Cancer survivors can register for $15.  Day of Race Registration will be $30 and will begin at 7:00 a.m.

Hope Lives! The Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Support Center is fully funded by donations and community support. Proceeds from this race will go directly to continuing Hope Lives' complementary support services that are provided at no charge to all Hope Lives! clients.

“There are approximately 200 women in Larimer County Diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year, and right now we are serving just over 154 women”� said Venable.

Hope Lives! The Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Support Center is the only non-profit in Northern Colorado which offers complementary services to women battling breast cancer. The complementary care program offers emotional, physical, and spiritual support which enhances the quality of life for women undergoing active treatment for Breast Cancer.
